On behalf of AGFUND (Arab Gulf Programme for United Nations Development Organization), UNESCO’s Special Envoy for Water, H.R.H. Prince Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, donated US$ 1 million (EUR 792,000) to UNESCO’s Solidarity Fund for Safe Water for All. This is the first donation to the Solidarity Fund, approved by UNESCO’s General Conference in Nov 2003. The donation will help UNESCO continue to promote the ideals of the International Year of Freshwater. Worldwide AGFUND has supported diverse partners on 32 water-related projects worth US$ 31 million (EUR 24.6 million).
