Cameroon: Bring clean water to rural communities
Updated - Wednesday 17 March 2010
Nido di Speranza (Nest of Hope) is organising a Bring clean water to rural communities in Cameroon advocacy day and workshop in Buea, Cameroon,on 22 March 2010, "When water comes, everything changes." 'This is what rural women and Lysoka and Tole villages told us when we were carrying out our study survey. This is because they go miles on foot to carry water on their heads and this to them is very tedious added to their other domestic chores.'
'So we will like to use this day and advocacy workshop to make known the importance of clean water and sanitation in rural Cameroon and especially to children. The World Water Day 2010 campaign is envisaged to raise awareness about sustaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being through addressing the increasing water quality challenges in water management and to raise the profile of water quality by encouraging our government, organizations, communities, and individuals to actively engage in pro actively addressing water quality e.g. in pollution prevention, clean up and restoration'.Event.
