Biwater Nigeria : minister dissatisfied with company’s performance
Updated - Friday 26 June 2009
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) would sanction Biwater Nigeria Limited, the contracting firm handling the multi-billion-naira water treatment plants for unimpressive performance, said FCT Minister, Senator Muhammed Adamu Aliero, after his unscheduled visit to the project site.
Aliero complained about the contractor not moving at the desirable pace, whereas the government has met all its financial obligations. He expressed his administration's dissatisfaction with performance of the firm, by saying that they made a promise to provide potable water to everyone in the FCT and anything that would frustrate that good intention would not be acceptable. He also charged all contractors handling projects in the FCT to attempt to meet all contractual agreements, promising that his administration would continue to fulfill its own part of the agreement.
