Thomas Okedi, comment on Uganda, Kenya: lack of sanitaries force girls out of school

The Research on the role of sanitary faciliities for girls in school is very paramount. For generations, people thought that girls failed to achieve in school because they were Dense and foolish compared to their male colleagues. Can you imagine that on average a girl can miss 4 days a month, 12 days a term and 36 days in a school year if she cannot afford sanitary pads? Lack of protection means that girls fear soiling themselves at school.
I think time is now when all of us should position ourselves and work towards attaining gender equity in education.
