IRC's director, Mr. Paul van Koppen has on 10 June 2005 been appointed as new chair of the NGO-NWP platform in the Netherlands. The platform comprises many Dutch organisations of the Netherlands Water Partnership, including: NWP, Agromisa, Aqua for All (A4A), AT developers (mostly private persons), AIDEnvironment, BothEnds, DGIS-DMW, DSM, EMF, EVD, IRC, Kiwa, LeAF, NOVIB, Partners voor Water, Plan Nederland, PracticaFoundation, Rabobank Foundation, SNS Bank, Triodos Bank, UNEP-GPA, UNESCO-IHE, WASTE.

The platform has achieved four concrete results:

• an Appropriate Technology (AT) Protocol;
• an active group of institutions and individuals around AT;
• planning of a match-making AT event in 2005;
• several concrete AT partnerships of developers, financiers, NGOs, public sector and knowledge institutes.
