Diary from the field – Nepal - 4: "Right information and proper facilities help reduce problems”

Senior Health Educator, Mana Ballav Wagle, discovers that Rabinlal Subedi, a water maintenance caretaker, doubles as a traditional healer. Wagle is visiting a secondary school where girls and female staff are forced to go to a stream because there are no proper toilet facilities. The good news is that a permanent latrine for the boys and girls is under construction.

Two children, Sita and Krishna from Bhayarkhark, are among those who are to benefit from an integrated water, hygiene and sanitation project launched by NEWAH. On a visit to the project site, Senior Health Educator, Mana Ballav Wagle, talks to them and is shocked by the lack of hygiene practices.
